"Passionate about inspiring others"

Hello! My name is Karol Castillo, I'm Peruvian and I live in Germany. Here I dedicate myself to what I love most: teaching German.

I was born in the White City of Arequipa, Peru, where I decided to pursue a professional degree in Tourism and Hotel Management. My love for Peru’s natural and cultural richness was a great source of motivation for me. Over time, I discovered that my career not only allowed me to travel but also to learn many languages. I have always been fascinated by cultural diversity, both in Latin America and abroad. I learned English, French, Portuguese, and Italian. However, one language that was not part of my original plans was German. It came into my life near the end of my studies, and I never imagined it would open so many doors. What began as curiosity soon became a true passion.

I discovered the German language at the Instituto Peruano Cultural Alemán in Arequipa. For five years, I was highly motivated to learn such a challenging language, and I kept going because I felt there was something truly special about it. That’s how I came to love it, eventually reaching the C1 level. From then on, my professional life changed completely.

As a tour guide at the Andean Sanctuaries Museum in Arequipa, I worked with German-speaking visitors who were delighted to find their language among the guided tour options. I truly enjoyed and learned a lot from that experience, as every day I spoke with people fascinated by Inca culture. That period not only sharpened my listening skills but also allowed me to deeply understand the way German speakers think and feel.

It didn’t take long for me to realize that my connection with the German language had reached a new level. I was later awarded scholarships for cultural exchanges, job opportunities in cultural management, and visits to schools in Germany in the field of pedagogy (2013 and 2017). Thanks to all these experiences, I was able to reaffirm my true calling: teaching German.

I continued my training as a language teacher, giving classes at the Instituto Cultural Peruano Alemán and at German schools in both Peru and Germany. My teaching experience includes working with children, teenagers, and adults, teaching German as either a foreign or a second language.

After completing a postgraduate program in Cultural Management and Tourism, I decided to return to Germany to continue my studies at the University of Kassel, where I earned my official degree as a teacher of foreign and second languages with a specialization in German. I also obtained my Sprachzertifikat C2.

Since then, I have been living in Germany, teaching adults from all over the world and celebrating each of my students’ achievements as they integrate into the country and develop professionally. I have truly seen that mastering another language like German is a real PLUS.

In 2019, ALEMÁNIKA was born — a space for connection and language learning, created from my desire to share the motivation that has always inspired me. For me, learning such a structured and fascinating language was not easy, but with the right tools and a lot of perseverance, it is absolutely possible.

Today, ALEMÁNIKA has become my educational project — a place where I share a practical, engaging, and motivating approach to learning German.

I will always be grateful for the trust my students place in me and in this dream. It fills me with pride to see how ALEMÁNIKA continues to grow as a space for connection with the German culture and language. But this is only the beginning, as the project has a very important social mission that will soon come to light.

And never forget:
You can learn German! 🇩🇪✨
